Whether you enjoy flatwater kayaking or whitewater kayaking the Ottawa river can offer you whatever it is you're looking for. From the shores of the Ottawa Valley about 1 hr 30 minute drive west on Hwy 17 from downtown Ottawa, you can find some of the best that whitewater has to offer with 2 channels to choose from. The middle channel has a lot of variety and is also a good day trip with lots of little play spots, while the main channel offers a challenge with more big water including the world famous bus eater.
The city of Ottawa also offers its own share of whitewater fun. Within minutes of downtown you will find a variety of play spots where kayakers and classes are going on throughout spring, summer and fall.
